perfect bound books


Trade and mass market paperbacks (almost all of the paperback books that we find in bookstores) are bound by a method called perfect binding. I like making them because they’re lightweight, fairly sturdy, and look about like books that you can buy in any bookstore anywhere in the world. In the language of the contemporary codex, a perfect bound book is synonymous with affordability and convenience. Here’s my take on the perfect binding.
